Kok Siew Wai seniman bunyi asal Malaysia yang mengeksplorasi olah vokalnya berkolaborasi dengan seniman bunyi Samarinda, Theo Nugraha yang hadir dipanggung selang beberapa menit awal Siew Wai membuka pertunjukkannya. Sementara Siew Wai bereksplorasi vokal dengan pengucapan dan gerak bibirnya, Theo meresponnya dengan instrument dawai yang dipetik, digaruk dan digesek. Sepanjang improvisasi keduanya membentuk komposisi berkarakteristik akustik.
Kok Siew Wai, a Malaysian sound artist, exploring her vocal and collaborate with Samarinda’s sound artist Theo Nugraha, who got into the stage a few minutes after Siew Wai begin her presentation. While Siew Wai explores vocals with his pronunciation and lip movements, Theo responds with stringed instruments that he picked, scratched, and swiped. Kok Siew-Wai berasal dari Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kok Siew-Wai adalah seorang penyanyi improvisasi, seniman video dan penyelenggara berbagai peristiwa kesenian. Dia telah mempresentasikan karyanya pada program kuratorial video dan pertunjukan di Asia, Eropa, Kanada dan Amerika Serikat. Siew-Wai juga berpartispasi pada festival music, di antaranya, CTM Festival (Jerman), allEars Improvised Music Festival (Norwegia), Asian Meeting Festival (Jepang), Choppa Experimental dan Improvised Music Festival, Playfreely Festival (Singapura), RRRec Fest, Nusasonic (Indonesia). Karya videonya berupa teks dan pertunjukan improvisasi vokalnya “Language of Self” (2011/2014) menjadi koleksi He Xiangning Art Museum di Shenzhen, China. Dia adalah salah satu pendiri dan direktur Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video & Music Festival (KLEX) sejak 2010. .

Siew-Wai has participated in music festivals such as CTM Festival (Germany), allEars Improvised Music Festival (Norway), Asian Meeting Festival (Japan), Choppa Experimental and Improvised Music Festival, Playfreely Festival (Singapore), RRRec Fest, Nusasonic (Indonesia), amongst others. Her video text + vocal improvisation performance piece “Language of Self” (2011/2014) is in the collection of He Xiangning Art Museum in Shenzhen, China. She is the co-founder and director of the Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video & Music Festival (KLEX) since 2010.
